  • Using a word processing program, some examples; Microsoft Word, open office.org Writer, Google Docs, MYAccess!, the students will create a KWL chart to organize what they know, what they want to learn, and what they learned on the topic of Pregnancy-How It Happens.

  • Students, in groups of two, will work together to organize and create an Infomercial using PowerPoint software to communicate to a friend the risks of being in a sexual relationship.

Stated Objective(s):

  • Using the Web have students look for videos that show how to feed a baby, preparing and saving formula, and any other web resources that they can add to the class wiki on this subject. Students post their findings on the Wikispace.

  • Demonstrate how to hold an infant for bottle feeding and how to hold a bottle properly.

  • Explain the benefits of breast milk for infant and mother’s health. Students will use a multimedia power point game to practice their knowledge about the benefits of feeding an infant.

  • Gather, synthesize and evaluate available information to make a decision about which feeding options would be best for you and using a word processing write a short essay expressing their point of view.
